Heather’s Party Picks for Aug 10th Weekend

Toronto party peeps, this weekend, in true Toronto fashion, is another weekend full of parties not to miss. Its nearly impossible to make it out to every party I want to, but if I could, these are the ones I would hit up:

FRIDAY AUGUST 10 – ZERO-PERCENT SEKTION 2 @ LI’LY

I ALWAYS have a wicked time at Zero-Percent parties. If you like techno and you haven’t been to a Zero-Percent jam, get your ass to Li’ly tomorrow night. I will be there! Don’t worry the sound won’t be shit, they will install their Dynacord sound system once again!

If SEKTION 2 is anything like SEKTION 1, shit is gunna go dowwwwnnn! Thanks to the interwebs, you can get the jist of wtf the last party was like:

This time around Mike Gibbs from Box of Kittens will be playing alongside Guyvr who rocked my sox at a small secret-like jam last weekend:

Of course DJ Pauze will be there (opening set). One of my absolute favorite techno djs…fer real!

SATURDAY AUGUST 11 – INTIMATE & UNDERGROUND vol. 12 LUKE FAIR @ TOIKA

Luke Fair! Luke Fair! Luke Fair!

Maybe I’m a bit of a fan 😛 I’ve been listening to Luke Fair since around 2004….I really dig his deep yet uplifting house music sound. I also like how he’s kept true to his genre…and perhaps he’s a little dreamy?

Thrown by Ozmozis Productions, this party will take place in Toika, a small-ish place at Richmond and Spadina. I’m curious as to how many people will show and how the venue will handle it, seeing as Luke Fair used to fill the Guvernment back the in day. There is a lot of competition for the night, Damian Lazarus at Footwork for one, so it’ll be interesting to see what goes down.

I’m not sure if I have ever been to a Ozmozis jam before here’s to a first for everything! Yes, I will be at this party too (I hope).

SUNDAY AUGUST 12 – SUMMERDAZE PRESENTS TONE OF ARC

Secret location, outdoor patio, lake views and house music? Yes please! Although I will be busy doing non-party things on Sunday (I think), if I was partyin’ it up I’d be at this one.

Some fave locals are playing like Nitin, Terence Kissner and Gera included.

TONE OF ARC from San Fransisco will be headlining…I have never heard but that doesn’t mean getting to know his sound cloud hasn’t made me interested!

Aight, those would be the main parties I would hit, check out my Toronto Party Calendar for more options this weekend!
