Heather’s Weekend Party Picks Jan 10 – 12, 2013

Toronto party people! Whether your livers and wallets have recovered from the holidays or not, there are serious jams that require you to get those hours of exercise in on the dance floor.

I’m out of town for the time being, but if I was able to hit up Toronto over the next few days, consider this my party itinerary 🙂

THURSDAY JANUARY 10 2013

Archi-Textures – One Love Movement

If you haven’t been to an Archi-Textures jam before, tonight could be your lucky night! And if you have been before, then you know exactly how lucky you are.

Head to Kensington Market tonight for a well-rounded beat menu served up at Waterfalls, 303 Augusta Ave.  Spooloops, SafetyDept, Kadmon and Trancisco will be making you dance to tech-house, house, dub, psy and progressive, while belly dancers will be dancing right along with you. FUN!

Spooloops, aka Ian Newton, will be coming all the way from Kitchener to bring you music like this:

Other Thursday night options include an Electro House night at Andy Poolhall and  Matteo diMarr should you find yourself in Woodbridge.

FRIDAY JANUARY 11 2013

Heavyweight 2013 – 001 Reset

“Calling all junglists!” Li’ly has your dnb and jungle this Friday night. Local faves Lush, Marcus Visionary, Mr. Brown and Deejay Love HZ are throwing down a fun and affordable night for all you peeps who love to show off your rinsin’ skills.  Free before 11 and $10 cover after.

Some warm up material from Love HZ:

Friday night is a busy night in Toronto! Dubstep lovers don’t miss DATSIK in the Guvernment Mainroom and to get your house fix head to Andy Poolhall for Dis’Funktion Friday.  ALSO, Sydney Blu is throwing down mad tech-house at Footwork and Nervo could be worth checking out at Uniun, I’ve never been to Uniun or seen Nervo, but they both seem to be pretty popular these days…if you’re into it.

SATURDAY JANUARY 12 2013

DBRrecordings TheHeatherNetworkSynergy – DBR Recordings 2 Year Anniversary

Holy shit! I really wish I was going to be in Toronto to hit this mega jam! Funky, bumpin’, tech-house lovers, you need to report to the dance floor for this one.

It’s the 2 year anniversary of DBR Recordings, developed by the sweat and smiles of MC Flipside and Chris Vench. Bringing out the best in local awesome and seriously danceable house music, DBR is a hellavuh label so this most certainly will be a hellavuh party. MC Flipside, Jerome Robins, Joee Cons, Jayforce, Chris Vench and Miz Megs will make you sweat it all out at Moskito.

Unfamiliar with DBR? Check out the vid from their launch from 2 short years ago: DBR Recordings Launch 2011

Check out some DBR wicked beats:

projek: S.P.Y.

OMG OMG OMG! S.P.Y. is in town, of which I am a huge fan. I saw him at WEMF and was totally blown away.  If superb dnb is your thing then get down to The Annex Wreckroom this Saturday.

There are SO MANY other options for Saturday night…hit up my Toronto Party Calendar to see what’s up.

Phew, I’m outtie (yes, I watched Clueless yesterday 😛 )
