Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 27, 2026
This policy explains what information theheathernetwork.com ("The Heather Network", "we", "us") collects when you visit the site, how it is used, and the choices you have. The Heather Network is a DJ based in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.
Information we collect
We don't ask you to create an account, sign up, or enter personal information on this site, and we don't sell tickets here.
- Server logs. Our hosting provider, Vercel, automatically records basic technical information when you load a page, such as your IP address, browser type, the page requested, the referring page, and the date and time. These logs are used to keep the site running and secure.
- Cookies and similar technologies. If enabled, Google Analytics and the Meta Pixel set cookies and collect information about your visit (see below). Embedded content from other services may also set their own cookies.
Analytics and advertising
We may use Google Analytics to understand how people find and use the site, for example which pages are viewed, how long visits last, what device and browser are used, your approximate location (city level), and which links are clicked. Google Analytics uses cookies and assigns your browser a random identifier.
We may use the Meta Pixel (Facebook and Instagram) to measure how well posts and ads work and to show event ads to people who have visited this site. The Meta Pixel records actions such as page views and clicks on ticket links, along with your IP address and browser information, and Meta may connect this to your Facebook or Instagram account under its own policies.
Google and Meta process this information on their servers, which may be outside Canada, including in the United States. You can limit or opt out of this tracking:
- Google Analytics: install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, or adjust Google ad settings.
- Meta: adjust your Facebook ad preferences and Off-Meta activity settings.
- Most browsers also let you block or delete cookies, or block third-party tracking.
Cookies and your choices
When you first visit, a banner lets you accept all cookies, decline them, or manage them by category. Analytics (Google Analytics: _ga and _ga_* cookies, kept up to 2 years) is on unless you decline it. Marketing (Meta Pixel: _fbp and _fbc cookies, kept up to 90 days) is also on unless you decline it or turn it off under cookie settings. Your choice is stored in your browser for 12 months, after which we ask again.
You can change your choice at any time using at the bottom of every page. When you turn a category off, we stop loading that service and remove its cookies.
Tickets
We don't sell tickets on this site. "Tickets" links take you to the event organizer's page or to a ticketing service such as Eventbrite, where any information you provide is handled under that service's own privacy policy. Some ticket links include a referral code so we can see how many people came from this website.
Third-party content on this site
- SoundCloud players on the Mixes page load only after you press play. Once loaded, SoundCloud may set cookies and collect information under its own policy.
- Eventbrite may host event flyers, so your browser loads those images from Eventbrite's servers.
- Instagram, Facebook and other outbound links take you to those platforms, which have their own privacy policies.
These services may receive your IP address and set cookies according to their own policies, which we don't control.
How we use information
We use the information described above to operate and secure the website, understand how people find upcoming dates, measure posts and advertising on Google, Facebook and Instagram, and respond to messages you send us. We don't sell your personal information.
Retention
Server logs are kept by our hosting provider for a limited period under its retention settings. Google Analytics data is kept for the retention period set in our Google Analytics account (no longer than 14 months), and Meta keeps Pixel data under its own policies.
Your rights
Under Canadian privacy law you can ask to access, correct or delete personal information we hold about you, or withdraw consent to its use. To make a request, contact us using the details below. For information held by Google, Meta, SoundCloud or a ticketing service, contact those services directly.
Age
Most events listed here are 18+. This website is not intended for anyone under 18.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy if our practices change, for example if we add a mailing list. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
